The Pen on the Pavement Planning

These are the roles a have planned for filming:

  • Camerawomen- Me, my aunt
  • Sorceress- My sister
  • Girl- Me
  • Woman Across the Street- My grandma
  • Angry Man- My Uncle


Locations:

  • My house
  • A wooded area, probably some park
  • A crosswalk close to my house
  • A crowded street, most likely Las Olas Boulevard

Schedule:

 We plan to film:

  • My house scene- March 5th or 6th
  • A wooded area- March 5th or 6th
  • A crosswalk- March 12th or 13th
  • A crowded street- March 6th or 12th

Health/ Safety
I don't really have any dangerous prop to worry about, bit quite a bit of shooting will be happening near roads, so we will all be as careful as we can. I guess it helps that my mom is also a registered nurse, in case anything happens.

We are still in the middle of a pandemic, so we will be wearing masks as much as possible while being out and filming. I have yet to decide if the masks will be apart of the costume or not, but we'll get to it on the day of.

Filming the Rest of our Video

     After filming and editing a majority of the video already, I only had to shoot a few scenes. I had to print out a few pictures we took on the first day we filmed, and film a stop motion scene of them being added on top of each other. This gave me a lot of trouble, as I could find anywhere to print out the pictures. I went to two different Walgreens, but both of their photo departments were down. We also when to CVS, but had the same results. Eventually, we just had to got to Walmart and get photo paper for our printer, which I didn't know my printer could use. We went home and It worked fine, so I got to work actually filming.       I set up my area on my dining room table, using my parent's phone as a flashlight, and my phone to take the pictures. First Day of Filming..... A Partial Success

     The first thing I filmed was the scene with the sorceress (played by my sister) running through the woods. We went to a small local park close to my house to film. It was an all around difficult experience. We had to find a position that would hide the street and cars around the park. Along with that, we had to get into good positions where I could film her when she ran. It was extremely hard. We had to reshoot so many times. Keeping up with her was hard, especially when I had to try to keep the camera steady. I have so many shots that started off good, but by the time she got to running, were all blurry and cut off. She would either run too fast for me to film, or run to slow, where I couldn't make it believable. It took many tries to even get the first scene right. We eventually got it, which was a relief.
