First Day of Filming..... A Partial Success

     The first thing I filmed was the scene with the sorceress (played by my sister) running through the woods. We went to a small local park close to my house to film. It was an all around difficult experience. We had to find a position that would hide the street and cars around the park. Along with that, we had to get into good positions where I could film her when she ran. It was extremely hard. We had to reshoot so many times. Keeping up with her was hard, especially when I had to try to keep the camera steady. I have so many shots that started off good, but by the time she got to running, were all blurry and cut off. She would either run too fast for me to film, or run to slow, where I couldn't make it believable. It took many tries to even get the first scene right. We eventually got it, which was a relief. The next scene also took a while. It was hard getting the right angle and positions for the next scene. We tried over, and over, and over to get something we could work with. I have so much footage. We managed to get something good to work with though. By the time we finished, it was getting dark, so we headed home. Those were the only scenes I had to film in that location thankfully. Next, I plan on filming the scenes on a crowded street, hopefully those end up being easier than today was.

    Today we started filming for our music video. My partner and I planned to start filing over Thanksgiving break, but things came up on both of our ends that prevented that. We headed down to a park on the beach in Lauderdale by the Sea, and we got to work. Both of our moms were there and offered to help us film, but we didn't need it at the time. The first scene we filmed was the one scene on the beach, where one person was sitting In the sand staring at the sea. We filmed the shot a couple times, to get a feel of how we wanted it to work before we filmed it seriously. Genre Research: Maleficent Mistress of Evil

     As Maleficent is seen as a very powerful camera, low shots are often used to indicate this. During the movie, Maleficent flies through the air a lot, and they follow her through the air by using tracking shots.Establishing shots are used in most movies, but in Mistress of Evil, the establishing show off the beautiful worlds created for this movie. The score of this movie captures the grandness of its classic roots, and reshapes it in a way that represents the movie's tone and setting. There are 2 main storylines happening throughout most of the movie, and crosscutting is used to show them occurring at the same time.     The costumes in this movie are very intricate and complex, as they involve both royal, medieval clothing, and more fantastical elements. The lighting varies throughout this movie, but a prominent feature is the darker lighting, which give a mysterious and distrustful tone. The makeup and prosthetics are used to further chance the fantastical themes of the film.
