Planning Blog

For this project, our commercial will be about Gatorade.

Props-

As we are doing a Gatorade commercial, our only props are Gatorade bottles. We have 4, one red, one yellow, one green, and one blue.

Costumes-

There are only two of us in the group, so one of us will record while the other will be the actor. We are doing 4 different gatorade flavours, so we have corresponding jackets for each color. The bottom wear wouldn't matter, as we plan on filming each part on the same day. The rest of the outfit wouldn't matter, as the actor is just playing a regular person.

Filming-

We plan to film most of the commercial on October 1st in the grassy area behind the round benches. It will hopefully only take one day to film. As a backup plan for if it rains, we plan on filming under one of the walkways close to that area. We plan on filming the same person in 4 different scenes, each scene with a different color scheme, and circling the person before cutting to the next scene. We also plan to film the intro, which is panning down from the sky to the actor.

Editing-

During this stage, we plan on adding transitiona, specifically a fade in and fade out during the intro and outro. We also plan to cut in between the different scenes, and create a split screen between the fours scenes at one point. There is no dialogue during the commercial, so we plan on adding in music.

0-2 s) Fade in from black to the sky

(2-3 s) Move camera vertically down

(3-5 s) Have someone holding Gatorade in front of them

(5-10 s) Circle the person, insert loud sound

(10 s) Change person's jacket drink and emotion

(10-20 s) Repeat 3-5 for each color

(20-25 s) Have a split screen where each "different" person drinks

(25-28 s) They smile, fade out to black logo and slogan "Gatorade, for when you're feeling down"

(28-30 s) Cut to someone falling
