Opening Scene Script

Title- The Pen on the Pavement 

Scene 1    

  • -        Sorceress runs through the woods, constantly looking back while running
  • -        You can hear her footprints and breathing
  • -        She stops and takes out a magic object and clicks a button
  • -        It opens a portal, not seen on camera, but heard. (A whooshing noise)
  • -        Sorceress looks back then steps through the portal
  • -        You can hear it close. (Same whooshing noise)

Scene 2

  • -        Tilt down to a pen on the sidewalk
  • -        Fade to Black

Scene 3

  • -        Shot of a girl sitting while putting shoes on
  • -        You can only see her lower half
  • -        Cut to her walking out the front door, locking it, and walking down the driveway.
  • -        While she’s walking, she puts the hood of her hoodie up.

Scene 4

  • -        Cut to a long shot of a girl walking up to a crosswalk.
  • -        She puts her earbuds in, and music begins to play (becomes trans-diegetic sound)
  • -        She crosses the street walking towards the camera.

Scene 5

  • -        Cut to establishing shot of the crowded city street.
  • -        Cut to her walking down the street
  • -        She continues to walk around and observe people walking.
  • -        She looks down at her watch and looks back up
  • -        She sees a woman watching her across the street
  • -        Cut to the woman’s view of her.
  • -        Cut back to the girl looking back at the woman and losing her in the crowd
  • -        She continues to walk
  • -        She looks down to check her phone then continues to walk
  • -        She sees another person in front of her somewhere looking at her, but she ignores it.
  • -        Cuts to shot of her feet while she is walking
  • -        She hits a pen with her foot and looks down
  • -        She sees it and looks around to see if anyone saw her, then picked it up
  • -      She pockets the pen and continues walking

Scene 6

  • -        She bumped into a tall man with a scowling expression
  • -     Her earbuds are knocked out and the music stops
  • -        Angry Man: HEY! Watch where you’re walking!
  • -        Girl (quietly ): Sorry
  • -        She keeps walking
  • -        Shot of her hoodie pocket with her hand in it and the pen sticking out
  • -        Fade to black

We Started Filming

    Today we started filming for our music video. My partner and I planned to start filing over Thanksgiving break, but things came up on both of our ends that prevented that. We headed down to a park on the beach in Lauderdale by the Sea, and we got to work. Both of our moms were there and offered to help us film, but we didn't need it at the time. The first scene we filmed was the one scene on the beach, where one person was sitting In the sand staring at the sea. We filmed the shot a couple times, to get a feel of how we wanted it to work before we filmed it seriously. We did many takes of the shot, because of different, small things we didn't like about them. Some of the takes were me filming my partner, and the others were her filming me. We both got some pretty good shots, but I think I'm leaning towards using one of the shots I got of her.      Next, we moved on the the other shots. Genre Research: Maleficent Mistress of Evil

     As Maleficent is seen as a very powerful camera, low shots are often used to indicate this. During the movie, Maleficent flies through the air a lot, and they follow her through the air by using tracking shots.Establishing shots are used in most movies, but in Mistress of Evil, the establishing show off the beautiful worlds created for this movie. The score of this movie captures the grandness of its classic roots, and reshapes it in a way that represents the movie's tone and setting. There are 2 main storylines happening throughout most of the movie, and crosscutting is used to show them occurring at the same time.     The costumes in this movie are very intricate and complex, as they involve both royal, medieval clothing, and more fantastical elements. The lighting varies throughout this movie, but a prominent feature is the darker lighting, which give a mysterious and distrustful tone. The makeup and prosthetics are used to further chance the fantastical themes of the film.
